all sounds were programmed by Simon Stockhausen
for the KURZWEIL K 2600 XS respectevely for the K 2600 R(ack version)
requirements
128 Megabyte RAM - operating system 3.11
Setup
each player has two keyboards (Kurzweil)
Sampler A / C - upper manual - Master Keyboard with 88 keys connected via Midi to a K 2600 R Sampler
Sampler B / D - lower manual - K 2600 X
each Keyboard needs a Sustain pedal and a Midi Volume Pedal
( of course high quality stereo active audio pedals also work )
plug in the sustain pedal into switch pedal 1 - the volume pedal into CC pedal 1
Sampler C connect the analog Audio outputs A (1/2) and B (3/4)
Sampler A / B / D connect the analog Mix outputs
SCSI connection
each player uses one IOMEGA SCSI ZIP drive/250MB, the SCSI ID of the drive (can be changed at the rear of the device) must be different from the Samplers own ID´s - otherwise the connection won´t work - so switch the drive´s ID to 5, sampler A/C to 1 and sampler B/D to 2 -in the Midi receive page you can change the Sampler´s SCSI ID
connect the SCSI port of Sampler A/C to the SCSI in of the
IOMEGA hard drive with a 25 pin SCSI-cable - then connect the SCSI out of the drive to the SCSI port of Sampler B/D
never do SCSI connections with drive or sampler on!
loading the sounds/samples into the Kurzweil
press the disk button and select current SCSI ID 5 using the +/- buttons, the IOMEGA drive will appear in the display
on each disk you will find one folder:
ANGELS - open the folder and you will find the required banks.
As two samplers share one drive you first have to load the sound banks into one sampler (start with the upper manual - K2600 R - Sampler A / C) and then do the same for the lower manual (K2600X - Sampler B / D)
press the disk button - press the load button - select the file you want to load - load the sounds into bank 200 using the overwrite/fill function (the very left button underneath the display) - this will clear all RAM data and load the sounds ( always confirm with OK )
in the pause before scene 12 reload Samplers B/D with banks Sampl_B2 / D2 - the upper manual does not need reloading
before reloading clear the Sample Ram by going to the Master page - press Object - press delete - press Multi - this page will appear:
Select: type/range
Type: sample - Bank 200´s
Start ID: 200 - set the End ID: 600 - press Set - press OK - all samples will be erased - then reload the new files into Bank 300 -399!
go to the Midi page, press XMIT - put the Ctl Selector transmit programm to 200 livecontrol - otherwise the Midi-Slider functions won´t work - put all 8 Sliders down to O
go to the Master page and set the tuning to +9ct - this will result in a tuning of the sampler to around 443 hz -now you´re ready to play!
Midi Setup
on the K2600 X (Sampler A/C) play all sounds in Program mode, transmitting on channel 1 - press the Midi button, check transmit and receive parameters - choose multi Mode
the Effect unit midi control channel must be set to current or 1 otherwise the Kurzweil won´t assigne the right FX setups to the program you´re playing - press the effect button - press control button underneath the display, set parameters
on the Master Keyboard (Sampler C/D) transmit on channel one
or omni
check the receive and KDFX channel of the
K 2600 R
View
If you want to change the size of the display go to the Master page - press view - change parameter
